While sexual dysfunctions used to be somewhat of a taboo, we are now realizing that the problems experienced by some men are far more common than anyone could have imagined. There are millions of men with erectile deficiency searching for ways to solve this embarrassing problem.

Where are a plethora of pharmaceutical drugs designed to treat these issues, but the possible side effects make them impossible for men with underlying health conditions to take. Luckily there are alternatives available. Two of the most common media to combat sexual inadequacies are the penis pump and the penis extender, but which one is best?

Penis pumps were originally created to help men with erectile dysfunction to achieve and maintain a hard on. The principle is quite simple; an erect (or mildly erect) penis is inserted into a cylindrical tube which is attached to a hose with a pump at the end. As the air is pumped out of the tube blood flow to the penis is increased causing it to swell.

As simple as this concept sounds, there are dangers associated to penis pumps. It has been documented in some cases that the pumped up tissue has taken extended periods of time to return to normal, sometimes over a week. Over-pumping can also cause serious problem in regards to the health of your penis. Pumping for lengthy periods of time can cause serious permanent damage to the blood vessels of your penis.

Penis extenders were designed to correct extreme curvature of the penis. The device consists of a base ring, support piece and fastening material. The base ring is slid over the penis so that it may rest on the pelvis. Attached to this base are two telescopic rods which connect to the support piece. With the penis being cradled in the support piece, you are the free to fasten it comfortably using either a silicone strap or noose.

The penis extender works by applying a gentle yet constant amount of pressure to the shaft of the penis. This pressure causes new cell growth on the penis resulting in a visible increase in size. Penis extenders are also the only method of penis growth recognized by the medical community.

Having considered all the above information, the decision of what method of penis enlargement should be much easier to make. While penis pumps may serve a purpose as a novelty or sex toy, penis extenders are a much more viable option if one is looking to permanently increase penis size.
