5 Common Ways To Detoxify Your System For Better Health
By: Mike Hirn
There is no question that toxins are more prevalent in today's world than ever before. We are adding toxins to our bodies on a daily basis. It is important to find a safe way to eliminate these harmful chemicals as quickly as we are adding them. Fortunately there are several methods that are effective.
Butylparaben, Benzene, Bentonite, BHA, BHT, Bronopol and Benzoic Acid may not be in our everyday vocabulary but they are in our everyday environment. We are in daily contact with these chemicals and so many more. The bad news is that there are 25 other letters in the alphabet and just as many chemicals associated with each one.
Our bodies do a pretty good job of eliminating toxins by filtering them out in the kidneys and liver then eliminating them through sweat and our excretory system. The problem comes when these natural systems for detoxifying get overwhelmed and cannot keep up, creating toxic overload. The results can cause respiratory, digestive and many other general health problems.
Fortunately we can help our natural systems keep up with toxic overload by using: 1-A change in our diets 2-A system of Herbal body wraps 3-Eating special Herbal supplements 4-An established Cleansing plans 5-Regular use of a Sauna
1-Lots of people use a change in their diet to achieve detoxification. Some maintain these changes on a long-term basis but most use shorter more intense changes to try and cleanse their systems. The theory is that so much of the contamination is introduced through the foods we eat that this is a logical target for change. Most of us are familiar with the reputation highly processed foods have for their unhealthy content. Many are not also aware that "fresh foods" like fruits and vegetables often have pesticides, herbicides and even artificial hormones in or on them.
Fasting, eating organic whole foods, mainly vegetables, and drinking lots of fluids especially water, is a common basis for these detox diets. Periodic use of this cleansing method does "clean you out" but should be used cautiously over extended periods of time. There are many essential elements required in a healthy diet and some of those may be neglected if this type of restricted diet is overdone.
2-Clay, salts, water and other ingredients are often used to produce what is known as a body wrap designed for detoxification. Toxins are stored within the cells of the body. The idea is that the salts in a body wrap tend to draw water from the skin and in the process draw out dissolved poisons.
This generally involves lying in a room covered with this mixture for up to an hour or more. There is an easier way that I will discuss later on. It is important to drink plenty of fluids afterwards to replace the water that has been flushed from your body.
3-Taking pills to supply your body with herbal supplements is another common detoxifying technique. Upping the level of specific vitamins, antioxidants and minerals can benefit the way your body works. More efficient toxin removal through excretion can be a result. Altering the basic chemistry of your body can become a fairly tricky business. Having a thorough understanding of the complete process is important before you start down the path of using herbal supplements to cleanse your body. Consulting your doctor is always a good idea before starting a detoxification program but is especially important when choosing to detox with supplements. Internet research is helpful but no substitute for a doctors advise.
4-There are many spas that offer an established program designed to cleanse your body tissue of toxins. They vary greatly but many are a variation of a daily schedule including enemas, liquid supplements and cleansing drinks. The sequence is repeated throughout the day for a period of a week or more. This certainly takes a commitment and dedication on your part since it is usually "a live" in situation. Many but not all of these spas are reputable so some due diligence on your part is required to find an affordable situation that is right for you.
5-My favorite (probably because it is the easiest) involves using a sauna for detoxification. The excretory system is the main toxin removal system of the body. Most people immediately think about solid and liquid urine removal when they think about the excretory system. The fact is that the sweating process also removes surprisingly large amounts of fluid from your body. Increasing the sweating process efficiently increases the amount of fluids removed from the cell. The toxins are not only flushed out at the same time but the rate at which they are removed increases the more you sweat. This happens because the toxins become more concentrated as the cellular fluids are reduced. Saunas are an effective way to produce the excessive sweating that is required to draw out the toxins.
The fluids for typical sweating (mostly water) come from the liquids that surround the cells not the fluids within the cells. As the non-cellular fluids are eliminated it becomes necessary for the inner-cellular fluids to be removed and this is where the dissolves toxins are most concentrated. They are removed at the same time.
As you can see there are various methods that can be used to cleanse your body tissues of accumulated toxins. They all have good and bad points to consider. The question of which is most effective is important. The answer is that they can all be effective but only if actually put to use. It is a little like the question of which diet is best. Most can be effective if you actually follow them consistently but none of them will work if you don't. Unlike most of the methods mentioned above, consistent sauna use can become a ritual that you look forward to instead of a chore to be avoided. Today's technology has made it practical and affordable for almost anyone to get a home sauna. It is surprisingly inexpensive and easy to set up a sauna at home. Kits or complete units can even be ordered online and delivered right to your doorstep.

Hepatitis - - Beyond A, B, and C
From Apply Now
Hepatitis is inflammation of the liver, caused by injury or infection. There are several causes of hepatitis, including viruses, bacteria, natural toxins (such as those found in the Amanita phalloides mushroom), industrial toxins, drug (medication) toxicity, and autoimmune diseases.
Types of hepatitis
Viral hepatitis
By far the most well known, and one of the leading public-health problems worldwide, is viral hepatitis. There are several different types of viruses that cause hepatitis, and they are transmitted through different means. The common hepatitis viruses are designated A, B, C, D, and E. A hepatitis G virus has been identified, but its clinical significance (whether it causes disease by itself, and if so to what extent) is unknown at this time.
Toxic / Drug-induced hepatitis
Drug induced, or toxic hepatitis, is caused by exposure to a substance toxic to the liver, often as a result of medication overdose or a reaction to medication. A common drug component that can cause drug-induced hepatitis is acetaminophen, a pain reliever that is best known as the active ingredient in Tylenol®. For this and many other reasons, it is extremely important to follow your doctor’s instructions, or the manufacturer’s guidelines, when taking any medication, including over-the-counter (OTC) medicines.
Autoimmune hepatitis
Autoimmune hepatitis is caused by the body’s immune system attacking the liver. Approximately 70% of people with autoimmune hepatitis are women. Researchers think there is a genetic predisposition for this condition.
Hepatitis can be acute, meaning it happens suddenly and lasts from several weeks to several months, but full recovery follows. Sometimes, the condition becomes permanent, and the liver is constantly inflamed. This is chronic hepatitis, which can lead to serious consequences such as liver cirrhosis, liver cancer, and premature death.
What are the symptoms of hepatitis?
Not all cases of hepatitis show symptoms. This is especially true in young children who are infected with the hepatitis A virus, and the majority (~80%) of people infected with the hepatitis C virus. When symptoms do exist, they include:
- Fatigue
- Muscle aches
- Nausea and vomiting
- Dark urine
- Abdominal cramps or discomfort
- Jaundice (yellow skin and whites of the eyes)
Symptoms range from mild to severe. Mild symptoms can be mistaken for other illnesses, such as the flu. If you have reason to suspect hepatitis, talk to your doctor and get tested.
How is hepatitis transmitted?
The mode of transmission depends on the type of hepatitis:
- Autoimmune and drug-induced hepatitis are not contagious.
- Viral hepatitis A and E can be transmitted through contaminated food and water, and in unsanitary conditions.
- Hepatitis B and C viruses are transmitted through blood and other bodily fluids.
- The hepatitis D virus is transmitted through blood, but requires the presence of hepatitis B in the non-infected person to cause an infection.
How can I protect myself against hepatitis?
The easiest way to protect yourself is to practice good hygiene and take care of your body:
- Wash your hands frequently, especially after using the restroom or before handling food.
- Avoid excessive alcohol drinking (alcohol can cause toxic hepatitis)
- Always follow dosage guidelines when taking any medications, prescription, or OTC.
- Avoid illegal drugs, especially the injectable type. Needles and other shared drug paraphernalia can have contaminated bodily fluids on them.
- Practice safe sex – multiple sex partners increase your risk of exposure. Use latex condoms if you have multiple partners.
- Do not share personal items that may have bodily fluids on them (razors, toothbrushes, etc.)
- Get vaccinated – vaccines are available against Hepatitis A and B. And because hepatitis D infection cannot occur without hepatitis B, a hepatitis B vaccine will protect you against both B and D types.
- Pregnant women who are infected should talk to their doctors about reducing the risk of transmission to their baby.
- Healthcare workers should always practice universal precautions.
Look for in-depth discussions of different types of hepatitis, as well as prevention and treatment methods, in the appropriate categories.

This is the basic building block of both estrogen and testosterone within the body. It also helps to build up the brain and the immune system too. Other hormones also provide you with strong bones, healthy skin, and even a healthy sex drive. You may also have to help out your thyroid as well. Many people find that as they age their thyroid does not work as it should and they have to see their doctor for medication to help. The body also creates what is called HGH, or the human growth hormone. This hormone is important to the entire body and helps to stimulate growth. Abscess Information And Some Ways To Prevent Them
By Peter Salazar
An abscess is a collection or aggregation of pus on a cavity most commonly on the skin. Abscesses can actually develop in different areas on the skin and even inside the body. For serious abscesses, an operation may be necessary to drain out the pus. The pus is a think fluid that contains dead tissue, bacteria and white blood cells. Usually, an abscess is caused by bacterial infection. Not all bacterial infections result in the aggregation of pus. Bacteria that make toxins tend to result in the formation of pus since the toxins may damage the body's tissues. When bacteria produce toxins, the body's defense mechanism fights the bacteria. As a result of this body's reaction (i.e. its fight against bacteria), some tissues die. A cavity forms and starts to fill with pus. As the infection continues, the cavity may become bigger.
Abscesses may also be caused by small breaks or wounds in the skin. Some fungi may also cause abscesses. Individuals with weak immune systems are more prone to abscesses than others who have a healthy immune system.
There is no distinguishing characteristic on patients who get abscesses. Many skin abscesses can occur in healthy people. Aside from bacterial infection, there are usually no fundamental causes of abscesses. Once an abscess disappears after treatment, no further problems occur. Some abscesses may heal by themselves. It is normal for a scar to form once the (skin) abscess has healed. For large skin abscesses, the pus may be drained via a local operation that incises the top of the skin for the pus to drain. The more serious forms of abscesses, such as the ones that form inside the body, may be removed only via an operation. The operating techniques depend on the location of the abscess.
An small abscess on the skin may heal by itself since the pus would eventually burst out. However, abscesses inside the body should be taken seriously and one should at once consult a doctor for the removal of the abscess.
Abscesses can be prevented by strengthening the body's immune system. One way to do this is to take the proper doses of antioxidants. One of the strongest antioxidants is vitamin C, which even helps increase the cells ability to fight cancer. Food that are rich in this nutrient are very much recommended for strengthening the immune system. Other important antioxidants are vitamin E and carotenoids. Vitamin E strengthens body cells to fight infection while carotenoids strengthen the body by producing lymphocytes, or cells that fight infection. A good source of carotenoids are red, yellow, and orange fruits and vegetables. A diet of with high vegetable and fiber content helps in strengthening the body and not just one's immune system. Some people have also had success with colloidal silver which you can find a link below to "more helpful information" there it tells their experience.
