How Yeast Infection Yogurt Can Help With The Condition

by Katie Rowan
Yogurt contains a bacteria that is known as lactobacillus and this same bacteria stops or perhaps retards any growth of candida, the fungus behind the actual yeast infection. Now this is the reason why the daily intake of yogurt has been proven conclusively in the prevention and treatment of vaginal yeast infection. The human body is a very complex structure as it has many microorganisms, some of which are beneficial and some that are harmful. There exists some sort of balance among these organisms and this balance is so vital for the normal day to day functioning of the body. If is disturbed the body is more prone to be affected by a particular disease.
Yogurt and Yeast Infection: How They Relate
It is widely recognized all over that yogurt is beneficial in the prevention of yeast infection. Firstly though we should know more about the relationship between the yogurt and yeast infection.
Yogurt has been proved to be effective in the treatment of yeast infection because it contains the living cultures of lactobacillus. By the administration of yogurt, the depletion of lactobacillus can be controlled and its stores are replenished. The yogurts should not be expired. For this purpose you need to read the label on the yogurt pack carefully. If it is treated by heat then it would be useless because heat kills the bacteria. And hence there would be no use of administrating the yogurt.
The microorganism responsible for yeast infection is present normally in the skin, vagina and digestive tract. These organisms are kept in check by the bacteria known as lactobacillus. This bacteria is also known as probiotic bacteria. When any condition disturbs the bacteria, the candida gets the opportunity to establish them. Antibiotics kill all the bacteria and this is because they can not distinguish between good bacteria and bad bacteria, so good bacteria is also killed including lactobacillus.
There are some other conditions that promote yeast infection .These conditions are diabetes, HIV. Menopause, pregnancy, and the frequent sexual act or intercourse. It also remains to be said that if you are suffering with yeast infection that you ought to refrain from any sexual activities until that yeast infection has been treated as the condition can be passed on from one partner to another.
Daily ingestion of yogurt helps in preventing yeast infection. If the women suffering from yeast infection add yogurt in their daily diet the occurrence of yeast infection can be controlled. We can also use yogurt internally to cope with the yeast infection. If a tampon is soaked in yogurt and that tampon is inserted into the vaginal wall, it will clear the yeast infection. This can be done many times a day until the symptoms disappear. If the vagina is red and inflamed because of yeast infection, then this method is preferred over the other ones.
So we can say that there is a connection between yeast infection and yogurt. It is preferred over the other methods because it is very cheap and without the side effects induced by the other methods of treatment.

Oh no a yeast infection! What to do?
by Vitaliy Gershfeld
So you've got a yeast infection. Now what?! Don't panic and don't start running to your nearest drug store. Drugs will not help you and will only baby-sit your problem. You want to get rid of your yeast infection right? Well read on!
I'm not going to waste anytime. Lets get down to business. If you want to get rid your yeast infection you have to: Start at the source of it! What source? The source of your yeast infection is a Candida overgrowth that is causing this nasty problem.
Q. What the hell is a Candida overgrowth?
A. The Candida is a yeast that is present in most people and is usually kept in check by your immune system. It grows given the right circumstances. This is usually due to a weak immune system and certain products which I will mention later.
If it manages to grow to a certain level it can infiltrate your intestines/esophagus and potentially puncture the walls of your intestines causing acid from the stomach to leak into your organs potentially damaging them.
Here is a picture of a worst case scenario of a Candida overgrowth: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Oralcandi.JP
Made you look? Well if that didn't make you throw up, just try to visualize what that would look like in the genital area. Not very sexy anymore is it? That was a case where the Candida grew so much that is covered the esophagus and was possible to see when the person opened their mouth. This disgusting being also causes the yeast infection.
Q. My god what can I do to prevent this?
A. First off relax there are cures and solutions for this problem. If you ask your Doctor about this he will most likely try and prescribe a drug. DO NOT TAKE THIS DRUG. WHY? Because this drug will not only stimulate the Candida to grow more (because it's an antibiotic) but it will also DO NOTHING to cure your yeast infection.
In order to prevent a Candida overgrowth from occurring or prevent one from continuous growth (if you already have it) is by avoiding: Antibiotics, white sugar, white flour, milk. These are all products that contain chemicals, bleach, and hormones that that Candida feeds of. This is why you should not take any drugs to "treat your Candida". Consider organic products if you can't live without the above products. (Organic milk, organic sugar, whole flour, organic drugs (Ignore the last one it was a lame joke)) Q. Ok so I stopped consuming these things. How long will this take? Can it go any faster?
A. YES IT CAN! You can eat garlic which is known to kill the Candida slowly. Eat 2 cloves of garlic weekly during meals and you will notice a difference if you already have a yeast infection. Drink Raw Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar. This product is also known to decrease and slowly kill the Candida. Drink it up to 3 times a day (1 teaspoon each time). Make sure to mix it with a cup water because it is FAR too acidic to consume on its own.
Make sure you know for certain if you can drink apple cider vinegar or not. Many people have a weak stomach and apple cider vinegar can cause a burning sensation if used incorrectly.
You can find apple cider vinegar at your local health food store. As for Garlic, you can find it at any local supermarkets.
If you add these two main products into your diet and decrease consumption of the Candida stimulating products, then you will start to see a difference in days! Both apple cider vinegar and garlic are like the kryptonite of the Candida, if you understand the Superman Analogy.
If you still believe a yeast infection is nothing to worry about or believe it only affects women I encourage you to rethink your position. It affects both women AND men.
Also as a bonus I would like to add to those people who are in a relationship who are having guilty thoughts about cheating on your partner to memorize that picture that I posted above and think that when you think about cheating on your partner.
Hope that helps! Take action and CURE YOUR CANDIDA.
